  • Tickets and vendor tables are on sale now for Scares That Care’s AuthorCon 4. The event is hosted by Brian Keene and is on from 4 to 6 October 2024 in St Louis.
  • Brian G. Berry’s novelization of 80’s horror movie Chopping Mall is set to be released on 19 November 2024. Preorder now from Encyclopocalypse.
  • Bret Nelson’s novelization of 50’s sci-fi horror movie Plan 9 from Outer Space is set for release on 10 October 2024. Preorder now from Encyclopocalypse.
  • L. Stine is partnering with artist Carola Borelli and Boom! Studios on a new graphic novel series, The Graveyard Club. The first issue, The Graveyard Club: Revenge Game releases in bookstores on 17 September and comic shops on 18 September 2024.

Horror Movie Morsels

  • Universal Pictures is hoping that Abigail will bring in at least $12 million in its first weekend.
  • The Tribeca Film Festival is on from 5 to 16 June 2024. The ‘Escape from Tribeca’ horror movies include AMFAD: All My Friends are Dead, Kill, and She Loved Blossoms More. The ‘Midnight’ horror movies include The A-Frame, Beacon, A Desert, The Devil’s Bath, Mars, and The Weekend.
  • The Chattanooga Film Festival, 21 to 28 June 2024, released its final wave of programming.

  • Reginald the Vampire, Season 2. Vampire comedy horror. Reginald Andres finally got his life together – when he was turned into a vampire. While he doesn’t fit into the stereotypical expectations of what a vampire looks like, Reginald has found his place among an unlikely cohort that includes the cool vampire who sired him, the former vampire chieftain turned unexpected ally (or is she?), and his co-worker/former girlfriend. Premieres on Syfy on 8 May 2024.
  • Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, Season 2. Slasher horror. Summer school: A fate worse than death? Premieres on Max on 9 May 2024.
  • Sweet Tooth, Season 3. Dystopian fantasy. Having defeated General Abbot, Gus, Jepperd, Becky, and Wendy head to Alaska in search of Gus’s mother who has been working to uncover the mysterious origins of the deadly Sick. Premieres on Netflix on 6 June 2024.

  • Dancing Village: The Curse Begins. Indonesian supernatural horror. A shaman instructs Mila to return a mystical bracelet to the “Dancing Village,” a remote site on the easternmost tip of Java Island. Mila, her cousin, and his friends arrive on the island only to discover that the village elder has passed away, and that the new guardian isn’t present. Strange and eerie events occur while awaiting the guardian’s return. Releases in limited cinemas on 26 April 2024.
  • Something in the Water. Shark horror. Five friends fight for their lives in open water after a dream wedding turns into a nightmare. Releases on VOD on 3 May 2024.
  • For Sale. Haunted house comedy horror. Mason’s brazen swindling catches up with him and he finds himself fired from his job and kicked to the curb by his ex-girlfriend. He finds a small realty company that needs someone to sell a piece of property that is considered “unsellable”. The catch? It is the infamous Scarlett Clay house – a haunted house where anyone who inhabits it ends up dead. Now, with the help of a quirky psychic, Mason must find his humanity to get his life back… or die trying. Releases on VOD on 7 May 2024.
  • Nightwatch: Demons are Forever. Danish serial killer horror. Emma takes on a night watch job to unravel the mystery of her parents’ disappearance nearly thirty years ago. When she awakens a serial killer from a coma, she triggers a series of catastrophic events. Releases on Shudder on 17 May 2024.
  • Trap. Psychological horror. A father and daughter attend a pop concert and discover they are at the center of a sinister event. Releases in cinemas on 9 August 2024.
  • Cursed. Spanish supernatural horror. The lives of six girls belong to different worlds although connected to each other through a doll called Molly, whose existence dates back to 1976, when she appeared among the rubble of the great fire of the San Carlos orphanage, in northern Spain. Release date TBA.

  • The Stairway 7. Anomaly loop horror. An endless loop anomaly hunt and observation “spot the difference” game where you are stuck in a endless loop of stairways with a cat and you have to observe your surroundings carefully to reach the exit. Anomalies are watching, and ready to hunt you down. Don’t take them with you. Releases on 17 May 2024.
