- Joe R. Lansdale’s supernatural horror novel Lost Echoes is getting a crowdfunded movie adaptation.
Horror movie morsels
- Liminal horror movie Backrooms is getting a sequel with director Kane Parsons returning for it.
- 2006 zombie comedy Black Sheep is getting a sequel called Black Sheeps.
- AMC released its first teaser for its 2026 FearFest programming which will run throughout Oct.
- Thanks to Bloody Disgusting and Magnolia Pictures, you can see early screenings of Japanese horror movie Never After Dark for free on 16 Sep 2026 in Boston, Chicago, Houston, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Seattle. First come, first served even if you RSVP.
- After V/H/S/Mixtape (releasing on Shudder on 9 Oct), the next movie in the franchise will be V/H/S: SCP which will release in 2027 and will be the first V/H/S movie to get a theatrical release.
- Steven Spielberg’s The Mandela Catalogue, based on the viral YouTube series, will release on 9 June 2028.

- Episodes of horror trivia game show Better Luck Than Chuck will release weekly on YouTube starting Thu, 24 Sep 2026.
- Widow’s Bay won 8 Emmys out of its 19 nominations.

- Horror, Inc. is suing Gun Interactive alleging they failed to pay millions of dollars in royalties for the development and distribution of Friday the 13th: The Game.
- Remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on 16 Oct 2026 “have been reimagined with new ideas and cutting-edge technology, all while staying faithful to the original games”.
- Halloween: The Game had over 500,000 players at launch. It’s also had 2 patch updates to date.
- Silent Hill: Townfall – The Dock House, releasing16 Sep in the UK and 30 Sep in the US, is an original comic story that “serves as an official narrative companion and prequel to” upcoming game Silent Hill: Townfall.
