Horror Book Bits
- Delilah S. Dawson’s 5-issue comic series, Sleepy Hollow: The Witches of the Western Wood, is a prequel to Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow movie. The first one releases on 6 May 2026.
- BizarroCon is back for its 18th year and is in Portland, Oregon, on 14 to 17 May 2026.
- Christopher Pike’s supernatural YA novel Remember Me is getting a movie adaptation.
- Fangoria is working on a 5-story horror anthology comic anthology.
Horror Movie Morsels
- Andy Muschietti, the director of the 2017 and 2019 IT movies, hasn’t yet found time to do the 6-hour supercut combination of the 2 movies plus extra scenes he promised 7 years ago. But he says they’re still “going to do it”.
- Lee Cronin says he turned down doing an Evil Dead sequel because it wasn’t risky enough, whereas his new The Mummy movie has the riskiness he was looking for.
- Actor John Hannah will reprise his role as the untrustworthy brother in The Mummy 4.
- In movie ratings news, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy has been rated R for “strong disturbing violent content, gore, language and brief drug use” and Obsession has been rated R for “strong bloody violence, grisly images, sexual content, pervasive language, and brief graphic nudity”.
- The sequel to 2024 curse horror movie It Follows is about to begin production and is called They Follow.
- The script is apparently being written for the sequel to 2009’s Jennifer’s Body and Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried are interested in returning to their roles.
- All 10 Saw movies are streaming on Netflix.
- 2016 supernatural horror movie Lights Out is getting a sequel.
Horror TV Treats
- Ryan Coogler’s The X-Files reboot will have two new original main characters that aren’t called Mulder and Scully.
- Robert Englund is voicing the character of Cosmo in the upcoming Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 animated series.
- The TV series adaptation of German supernatural graphic novel Berlinoir is called City of Blood and premieres on Disney+ in Germany on 16 Sep 2026.
- Supernatural series School Spirits is getting a 4th season.
- Barbara Muschietti says although It: Welcome to Derry season 2 hasn’t been officially announced, they are “all working towards it”.
- Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order is not getting a 2nd season.

- Dead Take and FAITH: The Holy Trinity are getting movie adaptations.
- There will be a Poppy Playtime: Chapter 6 and the live-action movie adaptation is still likely to happen.
