- Teddy by John Gault, the novelization of 1981 psychological horror movie The Pit, will be reissued on 19 Nov 2025. Such a sweet little boy. Such a dear teddy. Why is everyone so afraid?
- Philip K. Dick’s dystopian novel The World Jones Made is getting a TV series adaptation.
- Weird Tales is Kickstarting a “graphic novel of bizarre & unusual stories”.
- Bit Bot Media is Kickstarting a Rocky Horror Show: Bride of Rocky Horror graphic novel.
- Upcoming comic series Crownsville is inspired by a real psychiatric hospital in Maryland that closed in 2004.
Horror Movie Morsels
- Registration is open for the 48hr Sparks Film Competition. Beginning at 6pm on 7 Nov 2025, each team has just 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film based on a unique prompt they’re given.
- Christmas slasher movie Silent Night, Deadly Night releases in cinemas on 12 Dec 2025, but Bloody Disgusting is presenting a free double-feature screening of Terrifier 3 and Silent Night, Deadly Night in Hollywood on 2 Nov 2025, and a free screening of Silent Night, Deadly Night in Chicago on 5 Nov 2025.
- Even though The Conjuring: Last Rites was supposed to be the last movie in the franchise, rumour is that there may yet be a prequel movie.
- Experimental film The Run is screening in London through to the end of 2025, but the experience will not be the same for every screening. The audience will vote, using physical glowsticks, choosing from 20 unique deaths to 1 of 5 or so possible endings.
- Despite rumors, the reimagined American Psycho movie will not be gender-swapped.
- Actor David Howard Thornton, of Art the Clown fame, is playing another sadistic clown, Long Nail Nellie, in horror movie Hollywoods.
- The Horror Show is an immersive exhibition that will be on display from 20 Sep 2026 to 25 Jul 2027 at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. The exhibition “recognizes horror as one of the most emotionally resonant and innovative types of filmmaking, and celebrates its radical creativity and artists”.
Horror TV Treats
- A Talk to Me 3D spinoff series of 6 half-hour episodes will be available exclusively on Meta headsets.
- In 2026, Screambox will screen an all original horror conversation series of 6 half-hour episodes hosted by Ted Raimi. The series is in pre-production but is untitled at the moment.
- Filming has finished on Mike Flanagan’s Carrie series.
- Woody Harrelson says a reunion with Matthew McConaughey for another series of True Detective is not happening. The two played the detectives in Season 1.
- The cast has been confirmed for American Horror Story, Season 13, and includes Jessica Lange who previously said she would not be back.
Horror Podcast Pieces
- The 6th season of Glenn McQuaid’s and Larry Fessenden’s scary audio dramas Tales Beyond the Pale begins on 13 Nov 2025. New entries will be released every 2 weeks.
Horror Game Goodies
- The 4th annual Horror Game Awards will happen in-person in London and will broadcast live on YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and IGN on Sat, 13 Dec 2025. The public vote will open on 28 Nov when nominees are announced.
- Survival horror game Finding Frankie is getting a movie adaptation.
- Dark fantasy horror comic series Dark Souls: Mother of Mourning is set in the Dark Souls video game universe.
Horror Music Moments
- In the lead up to their 4th album, Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death, Creeper released a short vampire film called Death Swallowed By Death which includes a gory homage to the Lucio Fulci’s 1979 movie Zombie.
- The 1962 song Monster Mash is getting an animated movie adaptation.
