  • Condolences to family, friends, and fans of actress Priscilla Pointer. Pointer’s horror movie and TV credits include Carrie (1976), Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), Amazing Stories (1985-1987), and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987). RIP.

Horror Movie Morsels

  • Body horror short Stomach Bug won the Narrative Short Film Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival Awards.
  • Horror animation creator Shortest Blockbusters is teaming with Echo Lake Entertainment to expand into film and television.
  • Netflix is adding a bunch of Alfred Hitchcock movies for streaming from 1 Jun 2025, including The Birds, Vertigo, Rear Window, and Family Plot. They’re also screening over 50 movies at The Paris Theater in Manhattan between 16 May and 29 Jun 2025, including 36 directed by Hitchcock, and others that “either trace the stylistic influences behind Hitchcock’s filmmaking, are works made in collaboration with him, in his style, or as direct homages to his legacy”.
  • Frendo, from Clown in a Cornfield, is on a 2-week road trip across America leading up to the release of the movie in cinemas on 9 May 2025. If you track down the tour truck or one of the movie’s posters and post a photo on Instagram with the hashtag #IFoundFrendo, you’ll be entered into the sweepstakes competition.
  • Blumhouse is partnering with Meta Horizon in Blumhouse Horrorverse, an immersive horror experience, opening on 22 May 2025.

  • Evil Dead: The Game has been removed from online stores, but people who have already bought it can continue to play it as the servers will remain online, for now.

Horror Festival Fare

  • HallowScreamCon is a new Halloween-inspired convention coming to Las Vegas from 1 to 4 Oct 2026. It promises to be “a unique celebration of film, television, music, gaming, comics, art, animation, live attractions, paranormal adventures, and immersive experiences”.
  • Chattanooga Film Festival (20 to 28 Jun 2025) announced its second wave of movies. It includes the world premiere of liminal horror movie Noclip 2: Return to Lunchland.
