- Junji Ito’s short story In Old Records is getting an audio drama adaptation pressed onto vinyl, voiced by Poppy for the English version and Shoko Nakagawa for the Japanese version.
- Black Mirror episode San Junipero is getting a graphic novel adaptation. You can still back the Kickstarter for this “sci-fi queer romance with a twist“.
- Production has started on A Ben Evans Film, a movie adaptation of a Josh Malerman psychological horror short story.
- Author Ivy Grimes will be part of a free online book launch event for her novel The Cellar Below the Cellar on 25 Mar 2026.
- Author Brian Keene has been added as a last minute guest at Creature Feature Weekend in Gettysburg, PA, 20 to 22 Mar 2026.
- There’ll be a bunch of awesome horror authors at the Ashland Library’s A Celebration of Fear in-person event on 11 Apr 2026. The flyer and schedule are now available.
- H.G. Wells’ short story The Country of the Blind is getting a movie adaptation called In the Valley of Shadows.
Horror Movie Morsels
- Attendees at CinemaCon will get a sneak peek of Godzilla Minus Zero.
- Arnold Schwarzenegger says he’s in talks to return to the Predator franchise.
- Bodies Bodies Bodies writer Sarah DeLappe is writing the script for the Single White Female remake which will star Jenna Ortega and Taylor Russell.
- We’ll apparently be hearing news soon about a Sorority Row sequel.
- Guitarist Slash is executive-producing vampire movie Sundown, as well as documentary Black Zombie, which is about the origins of zombies.
- In horror movie ratings news, shark movie Deep Water has been rated R, while sci-fi movie 11817 has scored a PG-13.
- James Wan will be directing and producing an English remake of South Korean serial killer movie The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil.
- The original short of supernatural horror movie Monitor was used to pitch a feature-length adaptation without the original filmmakers’ knowledge. When they found out they decided to make the feature themselves. Monitor premiered in the Midnighter section of SXSW this week.
- Sinners has tossed a Writers Guild Award and two Saturn Awards onto its pile.
- Other horror movies that won their categories at the Saturn Awards were Frankenstein x 4, Dust Bunny x 2, and Predator: Badlands.
Horror TV Treats
- Pluto TV is giving one US superfan (and their +1) the chance to disappear into the desert for 9 days to an undisclosed, off-grid facility to marathon-watch the entire 11 seasons of The X-Files. If this sounds like you, you have until 20 Mar 2026 to submit your video explaining why you are the ultimate The X-Files fan.
- Joe Bob Briggs says he’s sad about the seemingly abrupt ending to The Last Drive-In last week, doesn’t know exactly why Shudder canceled the show, and he’s considering making another TV show and developing his own horror production company.
- Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller says he’s working on a new TV series with Clive Barker but didn’t give any more details about it.
- A film archivist has unearthed an uncut version of the original Silent Hill movie.
- Haley Z. Boston has curated a bunch of movies that inspired her in creating upcoming horror series Something Very Bad is Going to Happen. They’ll play at the Paris Theater between 20 Mar and 2 Apr 2026 in NYC and between 23 Mar and 6 Apr in LA and will also include a Q&A and a sneak preview of episode 1 of Something Very Bad is Going to Happen.
- Mike Flanagan has signed an exclusive multi-year deal with Amazon MGM Studios.
- In the Saturn Awards TV categories, the following horror shows walked away as winners: Dexter: Resurrection x 2, Chucky: The Complete Series, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, and It: Welcome to Derry.

- InEverything Must Go by Ted Geoghegan, the latest episode of Tales From Beyond the Pale, a group of teens gets more than they bargained for when they’re hired to break into a shopping mall.
Horror Game Goodies
- Sony may have inadvertently revealed that the protagonist in the upcoming vampire game Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will be Sonia Belmont. They’ve since replaced her name on their website with the words “Trevor Belmont’s successor”.
- A recent RoboCop: Rogue City update seems to have accidentally revealed a new Hunter: The Reckoning adaptation that no one knew about. The Rogue City game files had been replaced by an early build for the unannounced Hunter adaptation, but this error has now been rectified with no comment from either the publisher or the developer.
