  • Congratulations to Ai Jiang whose Linghun won Best Novella in the 2023 Nebula Awards.
  • Congratulations to the 2024 Writers’ Guild of Alberta awards Premee Mohamed’s No One Will Come Back For Us won the Short Story Collection award. Jessica Johns’ Bad Cree won the Georges Bugnet Award for Fiction.
  • The 2024 Locus Awards Weekend is on from 19 to 22 June 2024. The event kicks off with online readings, a Q&A, and an online meetup. Then Saturday has in person and online panels, a catered reception, and the awards ceremony.
  • The next book in Shortwave Press’s Killer VHS line will be Night of the Witch-Hunter by Patrick Barb. “Goth teen in late 90s tries to contact her witchy ancestor, but instead summons a cruel, Puritanical, demonically powered witch-hunter.” Release date: Spring 2025.

  • Dead Whisper. Supernatural grief horror. Elliot Campbell, a Cape Cod lawyer and grieving father, boards a ferry on business and is redirected to a nightmarish island. A demonic entity offers him a reunion with his dead daughter, but at the peril of his soul. Releases on VOD on 5 July 2024.
  • Thine Ears Shall Bleed. Western horror. In the 1860’s American West, a minister and his family are traveling in a covered wagon when they hear a mysterious sound from the woods. Believing the sound to be God, they worship it, until they realize the sound is something much darker. Releases on VOD on 9 July 2024.
  • Strange Darling. Serial killer horror. Nothing is what it seems when a twisted one-night stand spirals into a serial killer’s vicious murder spree. Releases in cinemas on 23 August 2024.
  • Infinite Summer. Body horror. On a summer break, Mia and her friends try a meditation app that’s somehow related to the operating system of the Tallinn Zoo, changing the body chemistry of its users into something between pollen and cosmic dust. Premieres at the 28th Fantasia International Film Festival 18 July to 4 August 2024.
  • Scared to Death. Comedy haunted house horror. While working as a lowly production assistant, Jasper suggests to his cantankerous boss that the crew and actors from their upcoming horror film attend a real séance in a haunted house for research. They choose an abandoned children’s shelter that has been closed for 70 years since the mysterious murders of five children in 1942. Once the séance begins, they find themselves trapped inside the old house and haunted by the children … and something possibly worse. Release date TBA.
  • Stay Safe. Psychological horror. Stationed on the front lines of a pandemic hot zone, an Army Surgeon attempts to uncover the truth behind a subliminal message she received from a patient while dealing with the unexpected arrival of an illegal immigrant into her home. Release date TBA.
  • Somnium. Psychological horror. Gemma takes the overnight shift at Somnium, a mysterious sleep clinic where dreams are made real, but soon finds herself trapped in its web of dark secrets. Release date TBA.

  • Killing Floor 3. Co-op horror. It’s 2091 and megacorp Horzine has produced the ultimate army: an obedient horde of bioengineered monsters called zeds. Join the rebel group Nightfall in a battle for the future of humanity. Releases in early 2025.
